Who Is Tate Picklo?
I love the physicality and the fact that all the wins and loses are on my shoulders alone. There is no blaming anybody else out on the mat. My dad was a 2 time All-American for Michigan State, and he has been me and my older brother Cameron’s wrestling coach since I was 6 years old.
We were raised in church and taught that our faith came before all. I am very blessed to grow up with two very loving parents who deeply cared about our success when it came to everything from grades to sports. I now wrestle along side my older brother at OU while working with their FCA.
On The Mat
- 2023 NCAA national qualifier.
- 4 time Oklahoma state finalist and 2 time champion with a record of 151-3.
- Unanimous No. 1 ranked wrestler in the nation at 195 lbs. in high school and No. 12 ranked pound for pound.
- 2021 Jim Thorpe wrestler of the year.
- 2019 world team member and Dave Schultz high school excellence award winner.
Off The Mat
- Tate’s favorite things are God, family, his dogs, and food! He is a leader in OU’s FCA and attends church at Victory Family church in Norman
- Tate is an all around athlete and can tumble & flip with the best of them. As a dedicated, goal oriented person you can find Tate waking up early and spending his days working closer to achieving something
- Tate is described by many as an easy going teddy bear who is a very loving, caring, and selfless person, always putting others before himself and almost always smiling.
- Tate’s biggest fans and supporters are his mom, dad, big brother, twin sister, and grandparents. He is a family man that enjoys the summer months, doing outdoor activities and a good steak dinner to cap off the perfect day.
